These appointments are essential in preventing dental problems and maintaining the health of your teeth and gums. But this is only if you want to keep your teeth healthy for all of your life. At these visits, your teeth are cleaned and checked.

Additionally other things are checked and maintained.

These include:
1. Medical History 2. X-rays
3. Oral Cancer Screening 4. Joint function
5. Gum disease evaluation 6. Tooth decay examination
7. Oral Hygiene Level 8. Dietary Habits

Q. What happens after my examination?

A. At Lucas Dental, after a complete examination, we will present to you a comprehensive treatment plan, detailing the description of treatment required with health insurance item numbers and cost so you know what to expect.

Lisa Staker our treatment consultant, and financial consultant is able to go through this with you, explain your treatment and fees and then proceed to prioritize your treatment based on your needs and budget. Lisa will endeavour to make sure we work at your level of affordability and pace. This means there are no surprises for you. Invisalign

Q.Does Invisalign really work?

A. Yes. In orthodontic and dental practices worldwide, Invisalign has been effective at straightening teeth. Nine out of ten patients are “very or extremely satisfied” with their Invisalign experience.

Q. How does Invisalign work?

A. Invisalign uses 3-D computer imaging technology to map the complete treatment from start to finish. From this plan, a series of custom-made aligners unique to your treatment is produced. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and gradually moves your teeth, before being replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved.

Q. How much does Invisalign cost?

A. Only your dentist can determine the cost for your specific treatment. It depends on the kind of treatment you need, how long it takes, and even where you live. Invisalign treatment is not much more than the cost of traditional braces. In addition, if you have orthodontic insurance coverage, Invisalign is normally covered to the same extent as conventional braces.

Veneers

Q. Can I treat my veneers like natural teeth.

A. Yes, just like natural teeth they can break.

Excessive chewing or biting, especially on foods like hard lollies, ice or bones may break the porcelain. Holding other hard objects in your teeth such as nails or bottle tops may damage the veneers.

If they are struck by sharp objects porcelain veneers can fracture, just like normal teeth. Wearing a mouthguard during sport is strongly recommended.

Good dental hygiene is important to extend the life of the veneers. Regular brushing with a fluoride toothpaste and flossing after meals will help prevent decay.

Those that grind their teeth may be recommended to wear a nightguard (splint) to protect their teeth.
